3i Infrastructure is a listed investment company focused on essential infrastructure businesses. It seeks long-term capital growth and income from a concentrated portfolio of assets and companies with resilient demand, strong market positions and the potential to grow cash flows over time.
Invests in and actively oversees infrastructure businesses across utilities, energy transition, transport, communications and digital infrastructure, usually taking meaningful ownership positions and supporting operational improvement and expansion.
Primarily European infrastructure, with selected exposure elsewhere. Portfolio companies serve businesses, governments and consumers through essential services such as energy, transport, communications and specialist infrastructure.
Portfolio earnings and cash generation, inflation-linked or contracted revenues, asset disposals and acquisitions, interest rates, financing costs, valuation multiples and structural demand from digitalisation, energy transition and infrastructure renewal.
Interest-rate and financing pressure, regulatory changes, operational problems at portfolio companies, valuation declines, concentrated holdings, political intervention and weaker-than-expected returns from new investments or disposals.
17 June 2026: completed the sale of airport-equipment lessor TCR, receiving €1.129bn and using the proceeds to repay its revolving credit facility. In March it also agreed a major investment in Norway's Lefdal Mine Datacenter.
Targets a progressive dividend and normally pays in two instalments. The FY2026 total was 13.45p per share; the final dividend went ex-dividend on 11 June 2026 and was paid on 10 July. The FY2027 target is 14.30p.
