Company summary

Ocado Group develops automated fulfilment technology and software for online grocery retailers. It also provides logistics services in the UK and owns 50% of Ocado Retail, the online grocery joint venture with Marks & Spencer.

02

Key activities

Robotic customer fulfilment centres, warehouse automation, software and fulfilment-platform licensing, engineering support, UK logistics and participation in the Ocado Retail online grocery joint venture.

03

Key markets

International grocery retailers across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, together with the UK online grocery and logistics market.

04

Key drivers

New technology-partner wins, deployment and utilisation of fulfilment capacity, recurring technology fees, growth at Ocado Retail, operating efficiencies and progress towards positive cash flow.

05

Key risks

Customer project delays or cancellations, high capital requirements, partner concentration, technology execution, competition, contract disputes, slower online-grocery growth and management succession.

06

Recent Developments

July 2026: first-half results showed underlying progress but also delays to some international projects, while management continued to target positive cash flow in 2027. On 21 July Ocado announced a new automated fulfilment-centre agreement with a large European grocery retailer, expected to go live in FY2028, adding another future revenue stream.

07

Dividend notes

Ocado does not currently pay a dividend. Cash is retained to fund technology development, international deployments and the path to sustainable free cash flow, so shareholder returns remain dependent mainly on long-term growth and valuation.
