03

Key markets

The United Kingdom, particularly professional landlords, specialist mortgage borrowers, property developers and small and medium-sized businesses.

04

Key drivers

New lending volumes, net interest margin, professional landlord demand, deposit pricing, credit quality, capital generation, cost efficiency and share buybacks.

05

Key risks

UK housing weakness, tighter landlord regulation or taxation, mortgage arrears, falling property values, funding competition, development-finance credit losses and interest-rate volatility.

06

Recent Developments

2 June 2026: first-half pre-tax profit was £133.2m, new mortgage lending £774m and net interest margin 3.08%. Management indicated full-year lending was likely towards the lower end of its £1.5-1.7bn range, but strong capital generation allowed the planned share buyback to be doubled to £100m.

07

Dividend notes

Paragon has a progressive dividend policy supported by surplus-capital returns. The 2026 interim dividend was 15.1p per share, ex-dividend 2 July and paid 24 July. Buybacks are also material: the first-half programme was increased by a further £50m to £100m.
