03

Key markets

Predominantly the United Kingdom and Ireland, serving commercial, public-sector and enterprise customers across a broad range of industries.

04

Key drivers

Corporate IT spending, cloud migration, cyber-security demand, AI infrastructure investment, software licensing, customer growth, gross profit per customer and staff productivity.

05

Key risks

Technology spending slowdowns, vendor concentration, margin pressure, memory and hardware shortages, staff costs, cyber incidents and rapid changes in technology.

06

Recent Developments

22 May 2026: strong Q3 demand for AI-enabled infrastructure and cyber security led Softcat to raise full-year underlying operating-profit growth guidance to the mid-teens. Some hardware orders were pulled forward because of memory shortages, so the durability of AI demand and supply conditions will be important into FY2027.

07

Dividend notes

Softcat follows a progressive ordinary dividend policy and frequently returns surplus cash through special dividends or buybacks. The 2026 interim ordinary dividend was 9.9p per share, up 11.2%, alongside a £45m share buyback completed in February.
