19 March 2026: Smiths reported 4.0% organic first-half revenue growth and a 17.2% headline operating margin while progressing agreed sales of Smiths Detection and Smiths Interconnect for a combined enterprise value of about £3.3bn. The portfolio simplification and resulting capital returns are likely to reshape earnings and valuation materially into 2027.

Dividend notes

Smiths has a progressive dividend policy. The FY2026 interim dividend was 15.0p per share, up 5.4%, ex-dividend 2 April and paid 13 May; dividends are being supplemented by a £1bn 2026 buyback and a planned additional £1.5bn return after completion of the Smiths Detection sale.
