Company summary

Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust invests for long-term capital growth in innovative US companies, including both listed and privately owned businesses. The portfolio is concentrated in companies the managers believe can grow substantially over many years.

02

Key activities

Investment in quoted US growth companies, private-company investments, participation in funding rounds, active portfolio management and share buybacks.

03

Key markets

The United States, particularly technology, consumer internet, software, biotechnology and other innovation-led sectors.

04

Key drivers

Growth and valuations of major holdings, successful private-company funding and exits, US equity-market sentiment, interest rates, technology adoption and the trust's discount to NAV.

05

Key risks

High growth-stock volatility, concentrated holdings, private-company valuation uncertainty, technology disruption, rising interest rates and a persistent discount to NAV.

06

Recent Developments

At the end of June 2026 the trust's NAV was 333.55p per share versus a 306p share price, representing an 8.3% discount, with modest net gearing of about 3%. The May year-end results and September AGM provide an opportunity to assess private-company valuations, portfolio concentration and whether the discount can narrow into 2027.

07

Dividend notes

The trust is managed entirely for capital growth and does not currently pay a dividend. Its June 2026 factsheet recorded a dividend yield of nil, with shareholder returns dependent on NAV growth, successful private investments and discount management.
