Allowed regulatory returns, delivery of the AMP8 investment programme, inflation, operational incentives, financing costs, customer growth and efficiency improvements.

05

Regulatory penalties, environmental incidents, political intervention, high capital requirements, financing costs, extreme weather and failure to meet leakage or pollution targets.

06

Recent Developments

13 August 2026: Ofwat provisionally approved about £995m of additional investment for United Utilities during 2027-30, with the final decision due in December 2026. The extra spending could increase the regulated asset base and future earnings but also raises execution and customer-bill considerations as the very large AMP8 programme gathers pace.

07
