Vesuvius is a specialist engineering group supplying molten-metal flow-control products, refractory materials and foundry consumables. Its technology is used mainly by steelmakers and foundries to improve quality, safety and productivity in high-temperature manufacturing.

02

Key activities

Steel flow-control systems, advanced refractories, foundry consumables, sensors, filtration and technical services for metal-processing customers.

03

Key markets

Global steel and foundry markets, with significant exposure to Europe, the Americas, India, China and other industrialising economies.

04

Key drivers

Global steel and foundry production, market share gains, pricing, cost savings, product innovation, emerging-market demand and operating-margin improvement.

05

Key risks

Weak steel production, industrial downturns, energy and raw-material inflation, Chinese competition, currency movements and execution of restructuring programmes.

06

Recent Developments

30 July 2026: half-year results showed the group continuing to navigate subdued steel and foundry markets while maintaining the interim dividend. Management is relying on restructuring, cost control and growth in higher-value products and emerging markets to improve profitability, making industrial demand and margin progression important into 2027.

07

Dividend notes

Vesuvius pays dividends twice yearly. The FY2025 final dividend was 16.5p per share and was paid on 6 July 2026; the 2026 interim dividend is 7.1p, unchanged year on year, ex-dividend 3 September and payable on 8 October.
